Getting more out of self-generated energy
Getting more out of self-generated energy
Solar panels are a welcome source of energy for every family in these difficult times of energy crisis. However, there is a caveat to be made about the optimal consumption of your generated power.
Did you know that you often use less than half of your generated power effectively?
That is why we use the power from solar panels as much as possible during the day. We turn on appliances that use a lot of power, such as the washing machine or dishwasher during the day, while the sun shines on the panels.
Converting excess electrical energy into food
A useful tip that we want to give is to convert the excess of energy into food.
With LED grow lights you can grow vegetables and herbs all year round for a low consumption (1.5W / dm²). By leaving your lights on during the day when your solar panels generate energy, you can still enjoy your fresh lettuce, spinach, basil, sprouts, … even at colder temperatures
Due to inflation, we all know that a visit to the supermarket takes a big bite out of your budget. By growing your own vegetables with your excess of generated energy, you ensure that you not only continue to eat healthy, but also that the gap in your portfolio does not become too big.
Our Hortimol range is specially designed to achieve high results with limited consumption. For example, with 40W, 60cm you can easily illuminate 70 cm by 40 cm. And in terms of consumption, therefore negligible with the excess of energy that you generate.
